Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center (SWCC) rescues Arizona native wild mammals that have lost their homes to development, or are found injured, orphaned, or abandoned. When possible, the animals in our care are rehabilitated and released, healthy and wild, back where they belong.
Our Mission in Action
Rescue
Whenever wild animals have lost their homes or are found injured or abandoned, we’re ready to respond.
Rehabilitate
The rehabilitation process assures every animal has a quiet place to heal and begin its journey back to the wild.
Release
We make sure each animal has an opportunity to return to the wild as safely and quickly as possible.
Sanctuary
If animals are unable to be released into the wild, we provide sanctuary to ensure they are cared for and safe.
Education
We educate the public on how to peacefully coexist with and protect Arizona’s
native wildlife.

Owl Pellet Dissection
April 12th, 2026 | 3:00–5:00 PM
Join us for a unique evening of discovery at the sanctuary! During the hands-on owl pellet dissection, participants will examine owl pellets to uncover the bones and remains of the owl’s prey, gaining a deeper understanding of owl diets and local food webs.
Family Day
April 18th, 2026 | 9-11 AM
Looking for a unique outing for you and your family? On select Saturdays throughout the year, explore Southwest Wildlife at your own pace!
This family-oriented morning open house is geared toward families, though it’s fun for all ages. If you have little ones, this is a great alternative to our standard Walk with Wildlife guided tour.
Virtual Speaker Series with Arizona Game & Fish

Join us for a virtual presentation about foxes in Arizona, presented by Arizona Game and Fish biologists Cheyenne Towne and Jeff Meyers.
Happy Hour with Javelinas
May 10th, 2026 | 4:00-7:00 PM
Join us at SWCC for our Happy Hour with Javelina event, starting with a brief tour of the sanctuary. Afterward, you’ll help create enrichment items for our resident javelinas right in front of their enclosures. Then, enjoy a tasty treat and your choice of beverage while watching the javelinas explore and interact with the enrichment you made.
This event is for guests 21+.
