ANIMAL STORIES
Catalina
Unfortunately, little Catalina will never know the wild life she was born to live.
Born in the summer of 2017, she was a tiny kitten when a well-meaning person found her. This person kept and handled her for a few weeks before they turned her over to authorities. While a few weeks might not seem like much time, it was long enough to change the course of her life.
Catalina arrived at Southwest Wildlife purring and ready to play, showing no fear of people. Because she never learned to see humans as a threat, she isn’t a candidate for release and will live out her life safely in our sanctuary.
Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center is a non-profit wildlife sanctuary that rescues and rehabilitates injured, displaced and orphaned wildlife. Once healthy, they are released back into the wild. We offer sanctuary to animals that cannot be released due to their injuries or other circumstances. In addition to rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife, SWCC offers a variety of educational programs for area schools and organizations as well as tours for individuals or groups through our sanctuary. Southwest Wildlife relies on donations and grants and these contributions are essential to our continuing work with the care and rehabilitation of Arizona’s wildlife.
