ANIMAL STORIES
Heavenly
In March 2014, Heavenly was found injured and extremely underweight. Alone, with no mother to care for him and teach him to hibernate, the young bear tried his best to survive through a lonely, cold winter, near the Heavenly Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe, California.
Captured and cared for by a terrific wildlife rehabilitator in Lake Tahoe, Heavenly recovered and was released back to the wild. Unfortunately, within a few weeks he was back near the ski resort, the only place he knew as home, looking for food from people. It was evident that Heavenly lacked the ability to scavenge for food on his own, and therefore he was recaptured, but in need of a home. Southwest Wildlife became that home.
Your gift, made in appreciation of Heavenly, helps sustain the daily operations of Southwest Wildlife.
