Join us for a unique evening of discovery at the sanctuary on Sunday, April 12th from 3-5 PM.
Guests will begin with a one-hour abbreviated tour, meeting several of our resident animals and hearing the stories behind how they came to the sanctuary.
Following the tour, guests will gather for an engaging owl pellet dissection workshop. In partnership with Liberty Wildlife, a wildlife team member will share insights about owls and their role in the ecosystem. Guests will also be introduced to one of Liberty Wildlife’s ambassador owls, and have the rare opportunity to observe this remarkable bird up close while learning about its natural behaviors and adaptations.
During the hands-on dissection, participants will examine owl pellets to uncover the bones and remains of the owl’s prey, gaining a deeper understanding of owl diets and local food webs. Each guest will also receive a take-home goodie bag, including a small jar, that can contain the items discovered in their pellet. This owl pellet dissection activity is designed especially for kids, for a fun, hands-on experience.
