This week was Vet Tech Appreciation Week, and it was a busy one in the clinic! Our mighty team of five veterinary technicians pours their hearts and souls into caring for every animal that comes through our doors.
When a new rescue arrives, the clinic is their very first stop. It’s here that our team evaluates each animal’s condition and determines what treatments and next steps are needed to give them the best chance at recovery.

Just this week alone, on top of their regular patients, the team did two wolf exams and intake exams on three orphaned bear cubs, all of whom arrived separately. Yes, three cubs in one week! It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see so many come in without their mothers this year. We’ll share more about these new arrivals in next week’s newsletter, but for now, we can tell you this: it’s never a dull moment in the vet clinic.
Being in the wildlife rescue and rehab world, our vet techs see some of the most difficult and emotional cases imaginable, yet they approach every day with compassion, strength, and dedication. Many also help with rescues and releases, helping animals return to the wild whenever possible. They do it all!
We truly couldn’t do what we do without them.
Happy Vet Tech Appreciation Week, Mallory, Dani, Maddi, Brenna, and Berk!
