Releasing Wildlife
We believe that wildlife belongs in the wild.
After rehabilitation and recovery, every animal ready to return to the wild is carefully released back into a safe, natural habitat. We choose release sites thoughtfully, places rich with food, water, and shelter, to give each animal the best chance to thrive in their second chance at a life in the wild. Whether it is a bobcat, fox, beaver, raccoon or any other species, our goal is always the same: To provide these incredible animals the chance to return to the wild healthy.
Watching a patient take their first steps back into the wild is the culmination of months of care, healing and hope and the center of Southwest Wildlife’s mission.
For some animals, injuries or other challenges mean release is not possible. Those animals find lifelong care and a safety at the SWCC Sanctuary, where they live out there lives with dignity and receive specialized support from our dedicated Veterinary and Animal Care Teams.
